Anxiety Treatment at Uttoxeter Hypnotherapy
Anxiety is a perfectly normal response to feeling threatened. Everyone experiences anxiety at some time. In our hazardous world anxiety is a natural response the body uses to help the mind recognise danger and how it can be best dealt with.
Symptoms of anxiety can be:
Feeling depressed
Impatience/irritability
Difficulty concentrating
Obsessional behaviour – (Things like, excessive hand washing, constant checking of doors, windows or plugs etc).
Difficulty sleeping.
We can all suffer some or all of these symptoms and not realise that they are being caused by anxiety.
Anxiety is a response to a situation where the body prepares for "Fight or Flight". Essentially preparing us in certain situations where we either defend ourselves or run. The body produces increased amount of adrenalin, the heart rate increases and the body is in readiness for whatever response is needed. For our ancestors, when they needed to hunt for food and came into contact with dangerous animals, this was an invaluable survival tactic.
Nowadays, stress and worry can lead to an almost permanent anxious state for some people; it is no longer confined to specific events. Real or imaginary fears can cause anxiety in people of all ages. If can affect everyday normal life. Symptoms include increased heart rate (palpitations). trembling, it can even get so bad that suffers can think they are suffering a heart attack.
This all further increases worry and anxiety and can lead to panic attacks.
By using hypnosis either as single therapy session, or the more in-depth analysis, we can find the root cause of this anxiety; and by releasing the emotion associated with the cause, we can once and for all remove the anxiety.
